iDUMBO - Hear outside sounds while listening to music with your earphones

iDUMBO is an app that allows you to notice external sounds while enjoying music with headphones or earphones on your iPhone.
When listening to music on your iPhone with earphones or headphones in the office, school, train, or cafe, you may not notice surrounding sounds. In such cases, iDUMBO helps you become aware of the sounds around you.
When using earphones with a built-in microphone, the microphone picks up ambient sounds, mixes them with the music you're listening to, and plays them through your earphones or headphones.

While you won't hear every subtle external sound, you should be able to distinguish voices calling you or chimes ringing.

Functionality varies depending on connected earphones

  • Wired earphones with microphone: Collects sound from the earphone's microphone
  • Bluetooth headset with microphone: Collects sound from iPhone's built-in microphone

  • External sounds are not completely audible. Please use this as a cue to notice sounds.

  • Advanced features such as noise cancellation are not available.
  • Do not use with speaker playback.
  • Feedback may occur and may adversely affect speakers or your body.
